At the Grand Falls General Hospital, December 25, 2017, Mr. Raymond LaForest of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 94 years. He was the widower of Rose Alma Leclerc who passed away in May of this year. Born at Grand Falls in 1923, he was a son of the late Alfred and Philomene (Lajoie) LaForest.
He is survived by two children, Germaine Desjardins (Jean-Eudes) of Grand Falls and Guy LaForest (Rachel) of St-Jacques, four grandchildren, Jean-Yves (Laura) Desjardins, Chantal (Kevin) Mallet, Josée (Steven) Parent and Jean-Pierre (Ileana) LaForest, five great grandchildren, Marie Joëlle, Samuel, Anthony, Alec and Jolène, one sister, Simone Lapointe of Connecticut, one brother, Gerard LaForest of Fredericton, as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Linda in 1979, sisters, Edna Landry, Beatrice Soucy and Leonie Burgess, brothers, Alcide, Elizee, Herman, Noe and Alfred LaForest.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m.
His funeral service will be held Friday, December 29th at 4 p.m. from the St-Georges Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with interment in the parish cemetery.
