At the Grand Falls General Hospital, February 2, 2018, Mrs. Alice Girouard of Plaster Rock passed away at the age of 87 years. She was the widow of Donat Girouard. Born at Blue Bell in 1930, she was a daughter of the late Felix and Marie (Babineau) Geneau.
She is survived by two sons, Ivan (Joanne) of Digby, NS and Armand of Plaster Rock, four daughters, Claudette Brown of Powell River, BC, Josephine Rondeau (Real) of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Anita Smith (Fred) of Crombie Settlement and Lisa Dunbar (John) of Fredericton, 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren including one-on-the-way, one sister, Jeannette Viel and one brother, Hubert Geneau of Grand Falls, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Donald, two sisters, Loretta Caissie and Mildred St. Peter, eight brothers, Emanuel, Gerard, Archie, Edgar, Victor, Lawrence, Joe and Francis Geneau.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 6th at 11 a.m. from St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, Plaster Rock with Father Paul Paradis officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery at a later date.
