Antoinette Lafrance

At the Falls Villa (Grand Falls Manor), February 8, 2018, Mrs. Antoinette Lafrance of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 88 years.  She was the widow of Roland Lafrance.  Born at Saint-Andre in 1929, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Emma (Berube) St-Amand.

Mrs. Lafrance worked many years in the kitchen of the Pres-du-Lac Restaurant.  She was a member of the Grand Falls General Hospital Ladies' Auxiliary and a member of the St-Georges Parish Choir.  She was also a member of the Grand Falls Daughters of Isabella and the Grand Falls Golden Age Club.

She is survived by seven children, Maurice (Mariette) and Elmer (Linda) of Grand Falls, Francine (Peter Pedersen) of New Denmark, Rachel (Gilles Laforge) and Gisele (Paul Castonguay) of Grand Falls, Leanne (Daniel Levesque) of Saint-Andre and Marcel of Montreal, 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, one brother, Guy St-Amand of Longueuil, Quebec, three sisters, Sister Lorraine St-Amand, f.m.a., of Campbellton, Aline Gagnon and Fernande Levesque of Tonawanda, New York, several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by six sisters, Delia Levesque, Gemma Ouellette, Rita Gagnon, Therese St-Amand, o.m.i., Germaine St-Amand and Juliette Rioux, seven brothers, Albert, Aurele, Antoine, Claude, Sylvio, Gerard and Rev. Irenee St-Amand.

Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 p.m.  Daughters of Isabella will meet for prayers Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

Her funeral service will be held Monday, February 12th at 4 p.m. from the Saint-Georges Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with interment in the parish cemetery.

For those who wish, donations to the Falls Villa Memorial Fund or the Foundation of the Friends of the Grand Falls General Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
